Who We Are
World Missions Outreach Organization
Every day, the Nepalese people face the harsh realities of mountain life in the Himalayas, ravaged by natural disasters like earthquakes, landslides, avalanches, and glacial floods.
The women and children of Nepal are the most vulnerable and suffer greatly.
With classrooms, homes, and lives destroyed, millions of children have been orphaned and homeless.
They are left to fend for themselves, often falling prey to human traffickers ready to exploit them in the international slave market.
Help develop a community where deprived children, youth and women are empowered and equipped with life skills and contextual technology that transforms society.
Our vision is for an empowered and equipped community, in a vibrant world. Our mission is therefore, to ensure the Community Benefit Sectors are given practical tools to accomplish those visionary ends, curtailing child endangerment, human trafficking, and illiteracy. We do this work by convening, educating, engaging, mobilizing, equipping and supporting these sectors, to ensure we all have the means to make our world an amazing place.
WMOO IS A REFUGE, MADE POSSIBLE BY GENEROUS SUPPORTERS AROUND THE WORLD, FOR ORPHANS AND VICTIMS OF HUMAN TRAFFICKING IN NEPAL.
Through the donations of our partners, we offer them a home where they can be refreshed and restored.
We provide necessities like food, shelter, and medication.
We give them the opportunity to receive an education and learn skills to better equip them so they don’t fall for the deceptions of those who would exploit them.
OUR FOUNDERS, TOM AND SHOVANA LASETER, ARE THE DRIVING FORCE BEHIND WMOO.
Tom met Shovana, a native of Nepal,in Texas in 1990. They married two years later. Through the years of their marriage, their concern for Shovana’s home country grew.
In 2006, the Laseter’s formed WMOO as a registered 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization in the United States of America and registered WMOO as an NGO in Nepal.
THROUGH THE YEARS, THE MISSION OF WMOO HAS STAYED THE SAME, BUT THE WORK HAS EXPANDED TO INCLUDE THREE MAIN INITIATIVES.
Today, WMOO focuses on rescuing victims of human trafficking, caring for children orphaned by natural disasters, and child and adult education.
These young Nepalese have had their whole life violently shaken apart. WMOO’s three strategic initiatives give Nepalese boys and girls more than a chance at survival.
WMOO gives them firm ground on which to stand and build a new life.
You stand for something. Give them something to stand on.
It only takes a simple step.
